THE CIRCLE WORKS
|
|
Commonwork provides substantial ongoing support for The Circle Works, a small
charity (registered charity no 1098873) working in east London.

| The Circle Works objects are:
the advancement of education, and the preservation and protection of
mental health in Tower Hamlets and the surrounding area, in particular, but
not exclusively, by the practice and study of the arts and reflective
dialogue as methods of learning.
The Circle Works achieves these objects by giving both children in school,
and adults working in the community, much needed time and space to think.
 |
For primary school children - regular sessions where, through talk,
play, and art, they can come to understand themselves and each other
better, and become more confident citizens. |
 |
For adults working for the benefit of the community in education, the
church, health services and voluntary organisations, for example
through professional consultations where, individually or together, they
can reflect on their work in order to do it more effectively. |
In an increasingly fragmented world, space for making connections is a
necessity. Through networks, publications and events, The Circle Works
promotes the idea of hosted spaces, where thoughts, feelings, hopes and
fears can safely be expressed, differences understood, and communal
experience shared.
