Professional Development for Teachers

MA Module 'Schools for the Future'

This exciting, new school-based MA module is delivered in partnership between Commonwork and London South Bank University. It enables teachers to explore ideas about the future and apply these in supporting their schools development to be at the leading edge in education for sustainable development and global citizenship. Studies in sustainability and the global dimension can equip students to make a positive contribution to a just and sustainable future.

This module will provide 30 credits towards an MA in Education, with other modules possible at LSBU or elsewhere.

The module will largely be taught by Commonwork staff and hosted at Bore Place, Chiddingstone, Kent with the support, resources and accreditation of LSBU at their Southwark campus. The course runs between June 2012 and January 2013 with attendance required mostly on Saturdays, June 6/7, June 23, July 7, Sept 15, Nov 3, Dec 1 and Jan 11/12 for final assessment. Other course related tasks would take place in the participant's school.

The cost will be £650 which includes residential elements at the beginning and end of the course. The price of further modules may well vary but early registration will ensure this reduced cost.
